Dr. Carlos Díaz Romero finished his Bachelor`s degree in Pharmacy in 1980 at the University of La Laguna (ULL). He defended his PhD in Pharmacy in 1987 and become Professor in 1990. In 2004 he got a position as Full Professor in the area of Food Sciences and Nutrition.
During these years he has carried out different management tasks as coordinator in the development of the Degree in Technology and Food Sciences and as secretary and deputy dean at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Apart from that, he has participated in the development of new research lines related to the area of Food sciences and Nutrition and has been PI in different projects funding by Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología, Gobierno de Canarias and Cabildo Insular de Tenerife.
Dr. Díaz Romero has been the director of 10 research contracts with public and private entities. He has supervised 12 PhD thesis, more than 30 degrees and master degrees, 9 bachelor thesis and more than 10 research projects. He has also coordinated 20 courses organized by different institutions. Professor Díaz Romero is co-author of more than 250 publications, including scientific articles, book chapters, or dissemination communications. Among them, more than 127 articles have been published in journals included at the JCR. He has presented more than 25 oral communications in national and international conferences and is co-author of more than 200 conference communications. Apart from that he has participated as reviewer of national projects at the ANEP (Agencia National de Evaluación de Proyectos) in Spain and he has revised numerous articles for scientific journal. Besides, he is an editorial board member of the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis.
